The headline: infant formula is a very safe product, the industry is doing a good job, and the risk of infant botulism drops dramatically as babies approach their first birthday. The most susceptible window is the first 3 to 4 months.
What parents can do at home:
- No honey before age 1
- Limit dirt exposure in the first months
- Feed age-appropriate foods
- Support the development of a healthy microbiome
