Why Go Fresh

Baby food shouldn't be older than your baby.

We’re not messing around.

  • No preservatives.
  • No extreme heat processing.
  • No GMOs.
  • No additives.

  • We received our Plates today and I am so impressed with everything! The packaging, instructions, and Kennadie went CRAZY for her ravioli! She loves food, but I’ve never seen her lick a plate clean like that! It was hilarious! We loved Little Spoon as her first bites and I was very excited when I got the email about your new Plates. Thanks for making yummy fresh food for my little one!

  • Prior to Little Spoon, I made all of Olivia's baby food. I wanted to be sure she was getting the best of the best. After being introduced to Little Spoon, I am no longer spending so much time each Sunday making food for the week. Little Spoon comes up with creations that I would have never thought of she has been able to enjoy such a wide variety of foods! Olivia loves Little Spoon, and I love it too! The second she sees her Little Spoon food container she is banging on her tray out of excitement. It almost takes two of us to feed her because she wants to eat it so quickly!”

  • Plates has truly been a Godsend. I am in late stages of a severe chronic illness. I care so much about the food my daughter gets... however, I am not physically able to cook the way I would like. Plates has allowed all of that to change. I am so thankful for Little Spoon! We used Little Spoon for her baby food too! We will forever love you guys as a company and be thankful for what you are doing. Our baby has been fed well, which we couldn't have done without your help!

  • Little Spoon is one of the first foods Dallas ate and she absolutely loved all of the flavors! After reading that most baby food has been on shelves had been there as long as Dallas has been alive, I decided I needed to be more conscious about what I feed her. Little Spoon’s food is fresh and packed with the nutrients that Dallas needs in order to grow strong and healthy. I love the yummy flavors, too. Her favorite so far are the beets, apple and rice! I stand behind Little Spoon and Dallas definitely approves! We look forward to new meals to try with each shipment!”

  • I wanted to thank you again for Plates. They are amazing! Half the time they are yummier than what I’m eating and I wait for the leftovers, but she doesn’t leave me much. When the box came in my little girl grabbed one of the plates and was trying to eat it through the plastic. She has loved every single one of them and is getting exposed to so many more ingredients than I would ever have done. Box #2 should be getting here soon and I can’t wait! Thank you!

  • We are so grateful that Little Spoon came into our lives! My husband plays in the NFL and is gone all day at work. I thought as a stay at home mom I would have plenty of time to do all of the usual mom things, but cooking baby food regularly was so hard to fit in. I would find myself constantly giving Lily those shelf stable packets with high fruit and sugar counts and boring flavors. Little Spoon is amazing because not only is it easy, but it is fresh food with unique foods that will build Lily’s palette. She’s loving the food and it’s refreshing to know I can give her the best nutrition without spending hours doing it!”

Your questions, answered.

  • How is Little Spoon different from food sold in stores?

Baby food on grocery shelves is heavily processed with extreme heat so it can last for years on a shelf, and often has preservatives. Not cool, and not the quality nutrition we want for our kids. We use cold-pressure, not heat pasteurization, to ensure our Babyblends are safe and stay fresh in your fridge for 14 days. Babyblends are USDA Certified Organic and are Non-GMO Project Verified.

Our Plates are made fresh too! You’ll never find preservatives, additives or fillers in our big kid meals. Early exposure to fresh, nutritious food can set your kid up for a lifetime of health and help minimize susceptibility to obesity and other diseases. Bonus points? It can mean the difference of a picky eater in years to come.

Even though our Babyblends and Plates are nutritionally complete on their own, we know that sometimes parents and kids need a little extra, well, boost! We've formulated our Boosters supplements to cover all your bases, so you can be sure your little one is getting the nutrients they need, in the amounts they need them, and in a way that's way easier than drops or tabs. From supporting gut health to strengthening your babe's immune system, our single-server Boosters sticks pack a powerful punch.

We started Little Spoon so parents everywhere can easily and simply get fresh, high quality, healthy organic meals for their children. No corners cut.

  • Can I choose my meals?

You bet! You will always have full control over modifying your orders in the Delivery Schedule tab of your account at any time.

  • How long do the meals last?

Our meals stay fresh in your fridge for 14 days and freeze for up to 3 months. We use Cold Pressure Technology (the same technology used by some of our favorite juice companies!) to keep our Babyblends fresh and safe without the use of preservatives or extreme heat. This amazing technology allows us to keep your food fresh, safe and nutrient-dense.

Our Plates stay fresh in your fridge for 14 days and can be frozen for up to 2 months for optimal freshness. Our special Freshlock seal goes on immediately after our Plates are prepared, locking in the flavors, colors, and textures you'd expect from homemade meals. They also help in the heating process, keeping the temperature even and using steam to evenly warm every part of your little one's meal!

  • What if my little one doesn’t like the food?

We know how frustrating it can be to see your child refusing food. But be patient before you give up on the food - the average baby needs to taste a food up to 15 times before recognizing it and developing a taste for it. It’s all part of palate training and perfectly normal. Pro tip? Try mixing a new flavor in with a familiar one to help ease your baby into trying new things! You can read more tips here

As for big kids like toddlers and older, their taste buds completely change every three months, so your kids' tastes are going to evolve quite a bit! It can be frustrating, but fairly common (and definitely normal) for your child to all of a sudden reject a meal you know they love. Don't give up though! Sometimes letting them select their meal from the fridge makes them feel empowered by being involved. We've seen lots of picky eaters turn around when they're included in meal time choices! Or try offering a dipping sauce! Dipping foods is a great way to get little ones to try new flavors or textures, and experts say that letting your child dip their food is a great way to help them hone their fine-motor skills. Little Spoon has five complementary sauces that pair well with every meal on our menu!

  • How do you ensure the quality of your food and the safety of your kitchen?

Your child’s health is our #1 priority! All of our ingredients come from trusted partner farms who adhere to the highest standards of food quality and safety.

We are incredibly mindful of food allergies, and all of our Boosters, Babyblends and many of our Plates are free from all major allergens. Our kitchens are also allergy-friendly, and we have protocols in place to minimize cross-contamination. All Plates that contain allergens are clearly labeled, and you can filter for allergens on our website.

We have never had any food safety issues at Little Spoon. We follow strict sanitation practices in our kitchen and have a swabbing program in place to mitigate any risk of contamination. Tests on our facilities are performed on a weekly basis, at minimum and we perform third-party lab tests after each batch of meals is produced in our kitchen to be extra sure that our food is safe and of the highest quality for you and your little one.z

  • Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes! Our packaging is 100% curbside recyclable. We also use recycled denim as insulation to help keep your box cold. Our Babyblend container, spoon and lid as well as our Plates and seals are all made out of #5 PP plastic. All packaging is completely BPA-free, Phthalate-free and free of harmful toxins. We're also excited to share that our cute blue Plates are dishwasher safe and can be reused time and time again for meals at home or arts and crafts time!
